Great news for North London! On Wednesday 28 January, we celebrated a new pedestrian drop-off zone at Hornsey Street Reuse and Recycling Centre with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
With 67% of Islington households not owning a car or van, many residents rely on public transport, walking, or cycling to get around. Now, they can conveniently drop off their household items on foot or by bike, reducing barriers to responsible waste disposal.
In addition to the new pedestrian-friendly access, we have installed dedicated containers for garden waste, textiles, and electrical items, further encouraging recycling and reuse. These improvements make it easier than ever for residents to play their part in protecting the environment.
We look forward to seeing more residents take advantage of these enhanced recycling facilities!
