Barrowell Green Recycling Centre will temporarily close while management of the site is transferred to North London Waste Authority (NLWA).

Residents are unable to book a slot to visit between Tuesday 30 June and Thursday 2 July, while signage and equipment at the site in Enfield is updated.

It will officially reopen on Friday 3 July under the operation of LondonEnergy Ltd, which is wholly-owned by NLWA. This will bring it into north London’s existing reuse and recycling centre network.

Visitors are advised to use Edmonton EcoPark Reuse and Recycling Centre during the temporary closure.

Cllr Maria Alexandrou, Cabinet Member for Environment at Enfield Council, said: “It’s important we all continue to use the facilities provided to dispose of and recycle our waste responsibly to reduce fly tipping and maintain a cleaner and greener Enfield.

“While we would encourage residents to use local facilities to dispose of waste and to recycle, we will ramp up enforcement and continue to prosecute those who fly tip and litter.

For further details and to book a visit once the site reopens, visit the LondonEnergy reuse and recycling centre information.
