Are you a ‘chucker’ or a ‘repairer?’

When items stop working, throwing them away and buying something new is all too easy. But that is incredibly wasteful and expensive.

It’s time to fall back in love with your stuff by gaining new repair skills.

London’s Repair Week runs from the 20th to the 26th of March. Many workshops will be happening around the city to help you gain practical skills and encourage the use of existing repair services.

Why should you get involved?

In the fight against climate change, we must make better use of our precious resources and reduce the amount we waste. London Repair Week allows us all to get practical advice on how best we can do that.

Rather than letting old items gather dust, give them a new lease of life by taking them to one of the Repair Week events. It will help you lead a more sustainable life, reduce waste, and save money.

How can you get involved?

London Repair Week brings together many organisations, including high-street brands, charities, local authorities, and repair groups, to run events promoting and encouraging the repairing of tired items.

The workshops are both online and in person, so there’s bound to be something you can get involved with. They cover a wide range of areas, including:

•    Bicycle repair
•    Electricals
•    Homeware
•    Textiles
•    Upcycling

Click here for a complete programme of events. You can also keep up with what’s happening on social media by following #RepairWeekLDN.

It would be great to see as many of you as possible getting involved. Make sure you show us what you learn and how your new repair skills have helped you breathe life into your old stuff.
