LondonEnergy Ltd (LEL) is a resource and waste management company that has powered the local community since 1971. We are a private company wholly owned by the North London Waste Authority (NLWA).
]The close collaboration between LEL and NLWA substantially benefits residents of north London. It delivers a cost effective and environmentally sustainable service. We also ensure funds generated by energy sales are transferred to the NLWA to be reinvested into public services for residents.
We are committed to adding value to waste by reusing, recycling and creating energy. Our activities handle around 763,408 tonnes of household waste annually, ensuring it is disposed of safely and reducing environmental impact.
The energy-from-waste facility (Energy Centre) at the Edmonton EcoPark in north London produces electricity for homes and businesses, helping us continue our mission to reduce waste. Over the past 50 years, we’ve diverted 21 million tonnes from landfill.
Additionally, we offer a range of recycling opportunities for residents to recycle a wide range of items, from wood to mattresses, at one of six Reuse and Recycling Centres.
